I used the SkyCaddie GPS for a year before trying the Callaway Nikon Laser Rangefinder. The LR 1200 is expensive, but well worth the money. It locks into the pin quickly unlike some of the cheaper models.
The laser rangefinders give you the precise yardage to the pin instead of the general (front, middle, back) area as on the GPS.

The LR 1200 is smaller and easier to use than the Bushnell Pinseeker 1500, although the results are basically the same.
